Kathleen "Lena" Beatrice Duncan Ellis

Kathleen "Lena" Beatrice Duncan Ellis, 89, of Roxboro, died Friday, September 13, 2019. Born in Person County she was the daughter of the late George Duncan and Nannie Clayton Duncan. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Alfred Ellis; her brothers: Graham, Bruce, Marshall, and Curtis "Sonny" Duncan; her sisters: Carrie Clayton, Ruth Wilkins, Thelma Oakley, Elizabeth Brooks, Bessie Jordan and Florence "Deanie" Wrenn. Mrs. Ellis enjoyed traveling, gambling, and shopping. She loved her family and being able to spend time with them. Surviving are her children: Janis Ellis Cyrus of Rougemont, Ronnie Ellis of Bahama, Edwin Ellis and wife, Brenna of Bahama, and Kathy Ellis Gunn and husband, Cray of Carrboro; grandchildren: Janessa Cyrus Taylor (McKenzie), Isabelle Gunn, Rachel Gunn and Leigh Ellis DeCourte (Ryan). Visitation will be held 7-8:30 PM Saturday, September 14, 2019 at the Brooks & White Chapel. Graveside service will be 2 PM Sunday, September 15, 2019 in the Person Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Herbert Brown officiating.
